This is a high school sport and team members are expected to attend practices and races.

Certified coaches teach riding and racing skills to boys and girls.
No previous experience necessary - just come have FUN and RIDE!!

Our team focus are the following but we will work with riders based on their goals::
1) NICA core values (Fun, Inclusivity, Equity, Respect, and Community)
2) Safety of our riders
3) Fun

WHAT:

The Skyridge Mountain Bike Team is a competitive cycling team for high school students.  We are not a recreational team. We train and support student-athletes to participate and compete in five races sponsored by the Utah High School Cycling League held in the fall.

Mountain biking is a challenging endurance sport. Expect it to be difficult but also rewarding and fun!  Our team practices are divided into strength and skill based groups to appropriately challenge each rider and provide coaching in small groups.

WHO:

YOU! Everyone participates - girls and boys!

There are no tryouts, there is no bench... everyone races!

If you attend Skyridge High School and agree to the team rules, you can participate!

If you are going into 7th or 8th grade at Lehi Junior, check out the tab "Jr. High Team".

WHEN:

Picture
The season runs from May to October. We kick off the season with a youth and parent meeting to provide information and answer questions. Pre-season Skills practices start in May with Regualr season practices beginning in June. Summer practices are 6-8 am on M, W, F until school starts then we practice on M, Th, S.

We use an app called TeamSnap for all practice and race communications. Student-athletes and parents must use the app!

We practice several times per week at various locations.  Riders are expected to attend all scheduled practices and show dedicated effort. We expect commitment, responsibility, and respect from our riders and parents. We can't do this without parent volunteers (lots of opportunities to help). If a student-athlete has another commitment that precludes them from attending practice, other makeup arrangements can be made in advance with a coach. However, this is an exception rather than a rule.
