We NEED parents like you to be involved in this amazing cycling league. We are a volunteer organization and without our parents, coaches, and dedicated cyclists our programs wouldn't exist.
WE NEED YOU! Not only do we NEED adults out there with us for safety, but it's also a ton of fun for all of us!
What are the PHYSICAL requirements to be a Ride Leader?
Remember, ride leaders do NOT need to be "cyclists" or athletes, etc. They just need to be adventuresome, patient, fun, and have a reasonable mountain bike in good condition. (The League offers discounts - ask me about this if you need a bike). We will group the riders into ability groups - which means - even if you've never ridden a mountain bike - you can come ride with us!
Does a Ride Leader have to be a parent of a kid on the team?
Nope. Most ride leaders are parents, but if any of you have friends who enjoy mountain biking and are interested, and are dependable, they are welcome to join us!
What are the Training/Certification requirements to be a Ride Leader?
This is important. NOBODY can ride with the kids until they have registered and passed the background check, which takes a few days. We cannot risk the safety of our kids by allowing adults to ride prior to completing these steps...even for parents. There are three levels of adult volunteers in our organization. The greater the level of certification & training our adults have, the safer our kids will be, and the more fun we'll all have!!
If you want to get together and talk more about this, please contact one of the coaches.
